FAQ

Commissions

  1. Will you auto-accept?

No, I will not automatically accept orders. I want to first talk to you about your order so that we are both on the same page, and so that you will be happy with the final product.

  2. How long will it take to get a reply back from you?

It depends. At the present moment my life is rather erratic and my time is randomly taken up with various things.Typically I'll respond within a day, though it may take a few days for me to get to everything if things get hectic for me.

  3. How many commissions can we place at once?

I would prefer that you only place one order at a time. I am the only person working for this shop, and so each project I take on is my baby. I do not rush anything and I always make the project that I am working on at that moment the priority.

However if you feel you must place more then one order be aware it will take even more time for me to complete the order. Please only place a maximum of two orders at a time. If you want to do more shoot me an email at [email protected]

  4. How long will it take to complete my commission?

This varies greatly! It all depends on how much time I can devote to sitting down to crochet, or knit. It also depends on the stitches I use, and what the product is.

    Examples :

An Afghan (blanket) can take up to a month+ to make. This is because of the size of the product and the amount of time needed to make it.

A scarf can take up to a week to make. It typically only takes three days, but I say a week so that I can work at a more relaxed pace so that your product is of the higher quality.

Anything else I am uncertain of, since it all varies with the level of difficulty.

Stitches also add, or subtract to the time poured in. A single crochet stitch will be more time consuming then a double crochet stitch or a triple crochet stitch. As well special stitches like Crocodil, Puff, Star, Shell ect, will take more time depending on the difficulty of the stitch.

  5. Can I cancel at any time?

No, once I buy the materials for your commission you may not back out. I am a full time student, and as such I don't have the money, outside of what you pay me, to pay you back after I buy materials for your project. I will, however, give you four days between confirmation of material money being recieved and when I actually buy the materials.

After those four days if I do not get your materials in another four I will give you the option of canceling your order. If I don't get your materials in those four days chances are I just haven't been able to go to the store to buy them, or have been to busy to buy them. If this occurs I will notify you via email and forum post if you would prefer the order to be public.

Yarn

  1. Where do you buy your yarns?

Pretty much anywhere that I can. I sometimes get my yarn at thrift stores, but for my products I prefer to buy from the local yarn shop called Sticks and Strings, or from JoAnn's, even Michael's when I can. I also buy some of my yarn from Wal-Mart, but that is only if I can not get it at the afore mentioned places.

If you know of a place that sells yarn and does online purchases, by all means show it to me!

  2. Is there a type of yarn you won't work with? Or one you prefer?

So far I have not found a yarn I will not work with. I am pretty open to any type of yarn, however if the yarn you choose turns out to irritate my skin or make me sick I will notify you and we will discuss changing it.

I honestly prefer to use Angel Hair, since it is so plush and soft. Its a joy to work with, and it is simply the most amazing thing I have ever touched in my life! However, since Angel Hair is on the more expensive side, I also prefer to work with 75% wool 25% acrylic yarn, or alpaca yarn (though I have an allergic reaction to the light blue dye in some alpaca yarn!)

  3. I have a type of yarn I want to use for my commission, can I send it to you?

By all means, yes! That saves on material cost, however that means that you would have to pay shipping to get it to me. If that it is fine with you, then by all means, you can send any yarn you want used on your commission!

Returns and Shipping

  1. When will you ship out products?

I prefer to ship more then one thing at a time, so if I can I will put off shipping until I have at least two things to ship. However if I do not have two products done at similar times then I will ship things after I recieve payment since part of the payment is shipping costs.

It will typically take three days for your product to get there, though it could take up to a week to two weeks, it depends on the distance the package has to go.

  2. What if I don't like the product?

In the case that you are displeased with the product made I will take it back, but only if you ship it out within fifteen total days of purchase/recieving the product. I require that you send me an email outlining exactly what was wrong with the product, what was disatisfactory about it, and why you want a refund. I also request that you post in the forums your complaints, if there are any.
I check my email, and the forums, daily.

Payment will not be used until satisfaction is assured, and the product is in your possession.

  3. If I make a return when will I get my money back?

In the case that you do make a return request your money will be refunded the moment I get the product back.

Payments and paying you.

  1. I don't have the amount needed for a commission, can I do a payment plan?

I would prefer if you paid me for materials first, then held off paying me for the finished product until after I completed. I will accept half the payment up front.

However, if you feel more comfortable paying the full amount is acceptable, just make a note to me telling me that it is the full payment for the commission and I will make a note to myself about it.
